Project Scheduling Start Date

NOTE-- MacNail construction software is retired-- in 2000, we replaced it with Goldenseal construction management software. Goldenseal is a complete business management package that handles simple construction project scheduling, accounting, construction estimating, and project management. There is also a start date field in each Goldenseal Estimate. You can also add an optional start time field, which is useful for small projects.

Construction Project Start Date

The current date is used as a starting date when you make a new schedule in the MacNail construction scheduling software. If this is not correct, you can type in a new starting date for the project.

To set a new start date:

1. Scroll to the top of the schedule, then click just to the right of the cell labelled "Starting Date".
2. Type in a new date. For example, to start the project on December first of this year, type in 12/1. Other date forms are also acceptable (see page 130).
3. Type the Enter or Return key, or click on the check mark box near the top of the screen. Notice that the completion date and the date for each construction item are changed automatically.

NOTE: If the numbers don't change, choose Calculation from the Options menu, and click on Automatic.
