Unit Costs Files |
NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. Unit costs are stored in Cost Item records, which are much easier to use than the MacNail spreadsheet files. Estimating Unit Cost Files A Unit Costs file stores material unit prices, as calculated by the Update Material Prices command in the MacNail construction management software. To open a Unit Costs file, choose Open File from the File menu, then select Unit Cost Files. Normally you will not do anything with a Unit Costs file. The prices in it are calculated using the latest supplier prices from the corresponding Price Sheet and Comparisons file, using the material quantities from the corresponding Assemblies file. To use the latest prices in a Unit Costs file, choose Move Prices from the Data menu, and move them from the Cost File to the desired destination (see page 95). |
