Accounting Sales Tax

Accounting--Formula Menu

Excel's FORMULA Menu includes commands for working with cell formulas. It also helps you to navigate around in worksheets.

NOTE-- Goldenseal construction accounting software replaced MacNail in 2000. It's an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. Goldenseal automatically calculates sales tax, and tracks what is owed to the tax agency.

The MacNail construction accounting software adds four new accounting commands to this menu.

*Sales Tax

Keyboard shortcut: option-command-T.

Choose *Sales Tax to change the calculation of sales tax in the Material Log.

If there is no sales tax figured for an item, this command will add sales tax, based on the tax rate for that supplier as listed in the Master Index.

If there is sales tax already figured for an item, this command will remove it.
If more than one row is selected when this command is selected, all of the rows will have their sales tax changed.

The change will be based on the first row of the selection. If it has no sales tax, then sales tax will be added to all the rows. If it does have sales tax, then sales tax will be removed from all rows.

NOTE: To have MacNail automatically include or exclude sales tax from new rows in the Material Log, choose *MacNail Options from the OPTIONS menu (see pages 89 and 173).

Running time: 4 seconds/10 seconds.
