Accounting File Setup

Version 3.0 of the MacNail construction accounting software will manage your files for you. In order for it to work properly, it needs a standard folder layout.

NOTE-- Our newer Goldenseal construction accounting software stores all data in a single file, and requires no fancy folder setups.

We recommend that you put your MacNail files into a folder named MacNail (or something similar). It should look something like this inside:

The actual location of the files and folders on the screen is not critical--you just need to have folders and files, with those names, available within the MacNail folder. You won't need the folders for any MacNail modules that you are not actually using.

The original MacNail Accounting disk is already set up with the correct folder arrangement.

Note that the folder must be named Accounts. Note that the actual physical layout is not critical, although you should have each of these files and folders somewhere in the Accounts folder.
