Accounting--Data Menu Excel's DATA Menu includes commands for working with Excel databases. NOTE: Do not use the Delete, Set Database or Set Criteria commands on MacNail worksheets. You will damage the functioning of the Query Box and the creation of reports if you do. The MacNail construction accounting software adds seven additional commands to the DATA menu. *Reports Keyboard shortcut: option-command-R. Choose *Reports to make a detailed report that shows
all items from a date range or an entire accounting worksheet. It will be broken down by job or by
payee, depending on the type of report. Running time: 45 seconds/3 minutes. NOTE-- Goldenseal construction accounting software replaced MacNail in 2000. It's an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. Goldenseal includes a wide variety of accounting reports, for many different business functions. *Extract Special Choose *Extract Special to get a list of all items that match the criteria that you type into the Query Box. You can use the extraction for time and materials (cost plus) billing, or for any other use where you need a list of cost items. Before using this command, type in criteria for the items you would like to extract (see pages 94 and 99). To make sure you are getting the right items, you can use the information shown in the Query Box, or the Find command (see page 94). The *Extract Special command creates a new report file named Financial Extract,
Labor Extract, etcetera. The file name will also include today's date if the Include date in report file names?
button is checked (see page 173). Since the extraction is a separate file, you can add formulas and make format changes without damaging the original accounting files. Running time: 35 seconds/2 minutes. |
