Plywood Subfloor Removal Cost |
Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION Construction demolition unit cost for removal of plywood subflooring. Unit Size One square foot of subflooring. Labor Costs We figure that an skilled worker can remove about 77 square feet of subflooring per hour, with some help from an unskilled worker. The price includes hauling the plywood to a dump truck or dumpster. The price does not include removal of floor joists, tipping fees or the cost of removing materials from the jobsite. The cost will be about the same for any thickness of subflooring. NOTE-- We have carpenters doing this demolition, mainly because that is what usually happens on smaller remodeling projects. If you have a dedicated crew for demolition of larger gut/rehab projects, you can probably reduce the labor time per foot, and change the wage rate from carpenter to laborer time. Material Costs We consume one wrecking bar for every 500 square feet of framing demolition. This cost covers lost and damaged tools, gloves, dust masks and other incidental expenses for the demolition work. Suggested Quantity Goldenseal calculates the floor demolition area. You can adjust the quantity. Source of Construction Pricing We timed our Turtle Creek Construction crew on a few projects that required subflooring demolition (generally 200 square feet or less per project).
