Temporary Toilet Cost

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Plumbing work for a temporary toilet, set up for rehabs or early phases of new construction. This is a "quick and dirty" installation with an existing drain line and water supply.

Unit Size

One temporary toilet.

Labor Costs

We figure about 3/4 hours for the plumbing work, plus a little laborer time to lug the toilet around.

NOTE-- Some earlier versions of Goldenseal use 1/3 hour of skilled labor for this item. In a recent review of construction unit costs, we decided that figure is too low for this item.

Material Costs

Includes one salvaged toilet plus a wax seal. If there isn't an existing water supply line, you might want to add that separately.

Suggested Quantity

Depends on project size. We suggest one per project.

Source of Construction Pricing

A very rough estimate, based on vague recollections from the few times we've needed to install temporary plumbing.

Comments

You may want to figure a temporary toilet installation even if you aren't installing a new toilet in a remodeling project, if there is risk that the current toilet will be damaged during construction. In that case also figure reinstallation of the old toilet. You can do a regular toilet install but use Assembly Labor instead of the full assembly.
