Custom Resources (Under Development) |
Can I change menu commands and other details in Goldenseal? The Mac OS 9 version of Goldenseal stores many items in resources. You can use ResEdit to change menu commands, icons and other details about the program. For example, switching a program to a different language can usually be done by changing text in resources, with no need to change the actual programming code. The current Mac OS X and Windows versions use the same resources, but in a form that is not editable by users. As part of our major code base revision, we will switch Goldenseal to using XML resources. That will allow users to edit menu command names and other interface features in all versions of Goldenseal. Note that many interface details can already by changed by the Custom Layouts and Preferences commands. HINT-- We welcome feedback and suggestions on the design of this item!
