How do I handle back orders?
Goldenseal accounting
software version 2.7 adds
a back order column to itemized sales breakdowns,
so you can track items that are back ordered.
To enter a sale for an item that is back ordered, follow these steps:
- Choose Sales from the Income menu.
- Click the New button.
- Click on the breakdown popup field on the left side of the window and enter Items.
- Type in details for the first item you are selling.
- If the item is back ordered, enter a quantity into the Back Order column.
When you are able to deliver an item that was formerly on back order, follow these steps:
- Choose Sales from the Income menu.
- Use the browser control at upper left to locate the back ordered sale.
- Click in the Back Order column and remove the back order amount.
To locate sales that still have items on back order, follow these steps:
- Choose Sales from the Income menu.
- Use the browser control at upper left to locate a sales transaction that has an Items breakdown.
- Choose Find from the Edit menu.
- Click in the Back Order column of the table, and type in >0.
- Click the Find button.
- Goldenseal will locate all sales that are still on back order.
We plan to add further enhancements to back order
tracking. Please contact us with your requests for additional
