Custom Reports

I want a report that Goldenseal doesn't have!

Here are some options for getting the reports you need from Goldenseal small business software:

Changing Existing Reports

You can add data to any report, or change the items it displays. If there is an existing report that is almost what you need, you can probably just change it.

To change a report, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Reports from the submenu.
  2. Use the popup fields at upper left to locate the report you'd like to change.

To change a calculated field in the Balance Sheet or Income Statement, hold down the Control key and double-click on the field.

For reports that use a report table, you can add or delete columns to change the data it displays. Click here for more about report tables.

Custom Reports

To make a new report, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Reports from the submenu.
  2. Click on the Area popup field at upper left, and choose Custom Reports.
  3. If you have no custom reports, Goldenseal will ask you for a report name. Enter a name and click OK.
  4. If you already have custom reports, choose New Layout from the Edit menu and enter a name.

To copy the layout from another report that is almost what you need, follow these steps:

  1. Use the popup fields at upper left to locate the desired report.
  2. Choose Select All from the Edit menu.
  3. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
  4. Use the popup fields at upper left to return to the new custom report.
  5. Choose Paste from the Edit menu.
  6. Change any items that you'd like to be different in this report.
