Moving Custom Layouts Between Files

I made a custom layout in one Goldenseal file. How can I move it to another file?

Goldenseal accounting software includes a full import/export feature, so you can move any type of data (including custom layouts) between two different files.

HINT-- If you want to move just one or two layouts, it is easier to copy/paste layouts between files or layout types.

To move a custom layout printed form layout from one file to another, follow these steps:

1. Open the file that has the layout(s) you want to move.
2. Choose Export from the File menu, choose Other Items from the submenu, then choose Print Form Layouts from the second submenu.
3. It will ask you to save a file on your hard drive. Give it a name and click Save.
4. Quit/Exit from Goldenseal.
5. Open the second file.
6. Choose Import from the File menu, choose Other Items from the submenu, then choose Print Form Layouts from the second submenu.
7. Locate the file from step 3, and import it.

You can also move data entry layouts between files— follow the steps above, but choose Screen Layouts at steps 2 and 6. To move report layouts, follow the steps above but choose Report Layouts at steps 2 and 6.
