File Not in File Manager/Explorer

Problem

Installed a file on hard drive or used Save As to save a new file, but it doesn't show up in File Manager list while using MacNail construction software.

Diagnosis

Windows, unlike the Mac, doesn't update open windows in the File Manager. So if you have an open window (e.g. on the C drive) and run the MacNail installer, the new stuff won't show up when you go back to the File Manager.

NOTE-- newer versions of Windows are better about updating windows!

Solution

Close the window and open it again. The new stuff should now be showing.

NOTE-- This answer applies to MacNail construction software, which we retired in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal estimating software and accounting software for Macintosh and Windows.
