Sales Tax on Estimates

Problem

The Sales Tax amount is not what the user expects, in Goldenseal estimating software or accounting software.

Diagnosis

"The sales tax is wrong" in an Estimate or a Sale transaction created in Goldenseal small business software.

Solution

Check the Tax column in the breakdown table. They may have some items with tax turned off (if the tax is too low). This is a useful feature for some people, but it confuses some people too.

HINT-- There is also a Taxable checkbox in each Assembly and Cost Item so they can pre-set whether it will show up as taxable or not. Useful for labor vs materials, and also many types of direct sales.

Also check the Customer Sales Tax rate-- maybe it has a % rate that is different from what they think it is.
