Unexpected Quit in Duplicated Estimate

Problem

Duplicate an Estimate, then do some work in the breakdown table. Bad address error.

Diagnosis

User duplicated an estimate and then made some changes to the breakdown table. Unexpected quit or bad address error.

Solution

There was a subtle bugs in Goldenseal construction estimating software versions 2.4 and earlier that can cause 'unexpected quit' errors when working in an estimate record that was recently duplicated (either with the Duplicate Record command, or via a template).

The workaround is to close the window after duplicating the record, then reopen it.

NOTE-- the problem is that the table still has a reference to the previous record. Goldenseal keeps it in memory for a while so it usually won't causes a problem, but if something causes a purge of the previous record, there will be a quit when the table tries to access an object that no longer exists.

Version 2.5 and later of Goldenseal estimating software won't have this problem.
