Repair Estimating |
The BidMagic construction estimating software also works on small repair projects. Here's how to approach them. Estimating Repair Projects The special conditions for small projects mentioned previously also apply to mixed 'handyman' projects--where you are doing small quantities of work all over the building. In some cases, you won't need to enter any dimensions at all. Choose Clear Dimensions from the Bid menu, then scan through Dimensions and enter quantities only for those items that seem to be useful for the project you are doing. Often the biggest problem in 'handyman' projects is knowing when to stop! To generate a list of just those items included in the bid, choose Print Specifications once you've finished with the bid. It often helps to attach it to your proposal documents so the client is clear what work you are planning to do--and what you are not doing. NOTE: If exporting to MacNail, you can also use that program to create a Project List or a Spec Sheet to attach to bid documents. See the MacNail Estimating or Spec Writing manuals for further details.
