'On Spec' Project Estimating

When using the BidMagic estimating software as a planning tool for buildings built 'on speculation,' follow the same procedure as when preparing a bid or estimate for a client. Enter all construction costs and soft costs, including the net profit percentage you would like to make on the project. Broker commission can be entered under Development Costs on the Soft Costs card.

The price produced by the BidMagic construction estimating software will be the net selling price that will be necessary for you to attain your desired profit percentage. If it seems to be what the market will bear, you'll probably want to proceed with the project!
