Estimating Specs- Line Items

In the BidMagic construction estimating software, all Specifications cards are set up almost identically. There are several subcategories on the card, each with one or more pop-up buttons which let you choose specific line items that fall under that subcategory.

Viewing Potential Line Items

To view the potential costs in a subcategory, follow these steps:

1. Click in one of the pop-up buttons in the subcategory, and hold down the mouse button.
2. You will see a pop-up menu that lists each item in the Price Book of unit prices for that subcategory. NOTE: On a slow machine, it may take a second or two for the pop-up menu to appear.
3. Remove the mouse from the pop-up menu before you lift up the mouse button, and no items will be added to the estimate.

HINT: If the item list is too long to show in the window, it will have a small triangle at the top or bottom of the menu. Move the mouse into the same row as the triangle, and the menu will scroll until you can see the remaining items
