Payroll Report

Once you have used the MacNail construction accounting software to create a Labor Report with correct hours for each employee, you'll figure your weekly payroll by making a Payroll Report. To make a Payroll Report, choose *Payroll Report from the DATA menu.

NOTE-- Our newer Goldenseal construction payroll software is much easier to use!

If a Labor Report is the active document (in front), it will be used to make the Payroll Report. If not, you will be shown a scrolling list of all available Labor Reports. Choose one as the source for the Payroll Report.

The Payroll Report will be based on the Payroll blank file in the Accounting Blanks folder. To change payroll formulas, change them in the Payroll blank before creating the Payroll Report (see page 110).

The Payroll Report will include all federal and state withholding, workman's compensation, and all employer taxes. It will include FICA, FUTA, SUTA, and Disability withholding, even if the employee's wages for the year have surpassed the maximum rates. To have these items adjusted, use *Update Payroll Files, from the DATA menu (see page 118 and 171).

A few items in the Payroll Report may need to be adjusted before you can actually write payroll checks.
