Multiple State Payroll |
Using More than one Employee Index If you have employees who are residents of more than one state, or if you do work in more than one state, you may need to figure your employees' payroll using more than one State Employee Index. NOTE-- In 2000, we replaced MacNail with Goldenseal construction payroll software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. It includes a much better payroll system. It easily handles work done in multiple states, and any other situation you might run into. Each week, use the the MacNail Accounting software to make a Payroll Report using one of the state Payroll Blanks and an Employee Index. Then switch to a different Employee Index and Payroll Blank, and run another Payroll Report for the remaining employees. To switch the Employee Index, choose Payroll Options from the Options menu, and click on the Change button next to the listing of the current Employee Index. You can then select a different Employee Index file. In each Employee Index, type in information for just those employees whose wages will be computed at that state's rates. |
