Material Costs Job Costing

NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction accounting software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. The Material Purchases records in Goldenseal serve the same functions as the MacNail Material Log described here.

Who?

The MacNail construction accounting software will "look up" the supplier name from the Master Index and display it in the who? column. Check here to make sure it is the proper supplier. If it is not, go back and check the code you entered into the biz# column.

NOTE: If the proper payee is not being 'looked up', the row may already have had its 'lookup formula' removed when new rows were added. Choose *Lookup Formulas from the FORMULA menu to replace the lookup formulas.

Job name

The MacNail construction accounting software will "look up" the supplier name from the Master Index and display it in the job name column. Check here to make sure it is the proper job name. If it is not, go back and check the code you entered into the job# column.
Comments
You can enter requisition or purchase invoice numbers into the comments column, or make other comments about the item, if needed.

Paid

Use the pd? (paid) column to mark off items as they are paid. If you use *Post to Ledger to transfer your payables to one of the Ledgers, you can have the check number put here automatically for all paid items (see page170)

Cost Control

The cc? column is used by MacNail Cost Control to mark off items after they are transferred to Cost Control worksheets. See page 132 for further information.

This column is used by MacNail Cost Control to mark off items after they are transferred to Profit and Loss (p&l) worksheets. See page 145 for further information.
