Finding Job Cost Records

In the MacNail construction accounting software, you can use the Query Box to find specific vendor expenses or other accounting info.

NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction accounting software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. It includes a Find command, for finding job costing records.

For example, to find all items purchased from Wickes Lumber for the Matthews job:

1. Type 4 into the criteria under job #, if it is not already there. Use the Delete or Backspace key to clear any other items that are already in the criteria.
2. Type 2 into the criteria under biz #, and press the Enter key.
3. You can type command-F to see the specific items individually, or use *Extract Special to put all matching items into a separate file.
