Cash Expenses & Split Payouts

To add a cash item in the MacNail construction accounting software:

1. Make a cash item for petty cash expenses that do not involve a check but that you want to include in your job costing.
2. Go through steps 1 to 4 above.
3. A row (or several rows) will be added at the selected location. The proper formulas will be added, and the label 'cash' will be filled into the check no column.
4. Notice that the running total column for cash items is in italic. This is to remind you that cash items will not affect your running balance, and will not be used when reconciling your account. Cash items will be used for job costing.

NOTE-- Goldenseal construction accounting software replaced MacNail in 2000. It's an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. It uses Banking Transactions, which are similar to the rows in a Ledger.
