Tree Removal Costs-- 12" to 18"

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Construction unit cost for removing a mature tree (12 to 18 inches diameter).

This work item may be necessary when preparing a site for new construction, or it may be part of a landscaping project.

Unit Size

One tree.

Labor Costs

We figure about 5 hours of unskilled laborer time to cut the tree, buck the wood into fireplace lengths, trim the top branches into manageable lengths and stack them or place them in a dumpster.

If there are many overhead wires or if the tree is close to a building, you will need to add quite a bit of additional time for this item. Also add extra time if you need to bundle the tops for disposal or if you are running them through a chipper.

Material Costs

We figure 3/5 days of chainsaw time per tree (running costs including gasoline, oil, maintenance and depreciation).

Suggested Quantity

No suggested quantity available. Just enter the number of trees you think you'll need to remove.

Source of Construction Pricing

Based on crew hours from one project that required quite a bit of site clearing. We timed the time it took for each individual large tree.
