Construction estimating unit cost for installing a free standing, wood burning Franklin stove.

This cost includes delivery, assembly and placement of the stove unit, including single-wall stovepipe within the room leading to a masonry or double-wall chimney.

The cost does not include damper, hearth, or the main chimney itself.

Labor Costs

We figure about 6 skilled hours and a little unskilled time to install the wood-burning stove.

Material Costs

One Franklin stove unit, some single wall stove pipe, and an allowance for screws, other fasteners and miscellaneous hardware.

NOTE-- The stove cost is just a rough estimate, since costs can vary greatly for wood burning stoves. You might want to remove the stove cost completely from this item, and add it separately as an allowance instead.

Based on job costing data from a few units installed by Turtle Creek Construction. This is pretty much a ballpark price-- some of the larger stoves will probably take longer to install, but it really depends on how much assembly and futzing is required.
