Site Fencing Cost-- Plastic Mesh |
Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION Plastic mesh fencing to secure a job site. Fencing is attached to metal fence posts driven into ground with a sledge hammer. The unit size is one lineal foot. Labor Costs We figure one skilled hour (carpenter) per 30 feet of fencing, plus one unskilled hour (laborer) per 20 feet of fencing. Material Costs The cost includes plastic mesh fencing, metal fence posts every 8 feet, and some wire to fasten the fencing to the posts. Source of Construction Pricing Taken from actual job costing for a few jobs done by Turtle Creek Construction. The soil is very rocky around here, so the labor costs are probably much lower for easier soil, or with crews that do it more frequently than we did. Comments We didn't figure any salvage value for the fencing or posts. On a short-term job you might want to use a negative waste factor of maybe -30% to -50% to account for reuse.
