2x6 Sill Framing Cost

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Construction estimating unit cost for installing 2x6 wood sills on a concrete slab, concrete foundation wall or cinderblock foundation wall.

This cost includes installation over j-bolts that are already imbedded in the slab, foundation or block wall-- drilling a hole and tightening down a nut on each bolt (at approximately 3 foot spacing).

Unit Size

One lineal foot of sill framing.

Labor Costs

We figure an unskilled worker can install about 20 feet of sill per hour, with help from a skilled carpenter doing the framing layout (66 lineal feet of sill per hour).

Material Costs

One foot of treated lumber per foot, with a 10% waste factor.

Suggested Quantity

Goldenseal suggests the foundation length for this item. You can adjust the quantity.

Source of Construction Pricing

This construction price is based on crew timing from a couple of projects, with confirmation and tweaking using job cost data from a large number of projects.

NOTE-- If you have a complex layout with many corners, non-90° corners or curved walls, it will take more time to lay out the sills. However we already add a framing cost per corner and for curved walls, and that will cover the additional layout cost for the wall framing.
