Construction estimating unit cost for installation of a 4x4 treated support pier under a covered porch.


UNIT SIZE

One porch support pier up to 4' in length. It includes a concrete support pad at the bottom of the hole, 6" to 8" thick, plus the 4x4 extending from the pad up to the bottom of the porch framing. It's designed for retrofitting under an existing porch with rotted supports, though it might also work for new construction,


LABOR COSTS

We figure 3/4 hours for an unskilled worker, plus 1/10 hours for a skilled worker to excavate, place concrete and set a 4x4 support pier under an existing porch.


MATERIAL COSTS

The cost includes a 4x4 post and concrete mix.
