Problem

In Goldenseal payroll software versions 4.55 and earlier, Labor Hours for an employee with a zero wage rate won't be included in payroll, when you use the Write Payroll command. Usually this hasn't been a problem, but one user still wanted to pay for the hours as an irregular draw, without entering a cost for the hours.

Workaround

If you give the employee any wage rate (even $.01 an hour), they'll show up in payroll.

Solution

Starting with Goldenseal payroll software version 4.6, we'll now include labor hours, even if they have a zero amount.

NOTE-- This change may possibly add a new problem, if users have entered hours in the past with zero amount. In that case, you can include them in your first paycheck, since they won't affect the amount. If this change is a long-term annoyance, please let us know, and we'll add a Preferences item to make it optional.
