Labor Hours Report-- Zero Items

Problem

The Labor Hours report was including all line items of work from an Estimate, even if their quantity was zero.

Workaround

None.

Solution

Starting with Goldenseal accounting software version 4.3, you can skip items that have zero quantity, in the Labor Hours report, and in other related reports.

To set the reports to show or skip items with zero quantity, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Reports from the submenu.
  2. Enter Estimates into the Area popup field, at upper left.
  3. Enter Labor Hours by Task into the Report popup field.
  4. Click in the report table (the field with horizontal stripes in the center of the report).
  5. Choose Field Properties from the Format menu.
  6. Turn the Show Zero-Item Breakdowns checkbox on if you want to show all line items. Turn it off if you want to skip line items with zero quantity.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close the layout, and save changes.

NOTE-- the change we made is generic, and will also apply to other management åreports that come from an Estimate.
