System Requirements

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Before beginning with the BidMagic estimating software, make sure you have the correct hardware and software to run it.

Computer hardware: BidMagic will run on any Macintosh or Windows computer.

RAM: Depending on your computer type and System version, you will need a minimum of one to four megabytes of RAM (random-access memory) to run BidMagic. In general, newer versions of the System are bigger, and require more RAM.

HINT: Contact our technical support staff for help in determining your exact RAM needs.

System Software: For best results, you should have the latest version of System and Finder installed on your hard drive. BidMagic will run on Macintosh System 6.0.5 or greater.

Hard Drive: BidMagic requires a hard drive of any size. You should have at least 3 megabytes of free space on your hard drive before you load BidMagic.

HINT: It's good practice to leave 10-15% free space on your hard drive. This will increase speed, and cut down on hard drive wear.
