Client Crash in Mavericks |
Problem Client computers running Macintosh OS 10.9 (Mavericks) will crash when attempting to sign on to the server. NOTE: We program "defensively", so it's very rare that Goldenseal crashes. This is actually caused by some older Macintosh code that is no longer supported in the latest OS. It's the first time we have had problems from a new Macintosh update. Caught By User bug report. Workaround None. Under Mavericks and Yosemite, you can't sign on as a client. However, you can still run a server on those machines. Solution This problem won't be fixed until Goldenseal Pro, which will use Cocoa networking protocols. Technical Details Programmer note-- we tried removing the Open Transport code, but our Carbon-based networking code requires it. |
