Oldest Pricing in Estimates

Feature

Starting with Goldenseal estimating software version 4.8, each Assembly and Estimate record can show the date of the oldest component price-- the earliest date when the price of a unit cost was last updated. Being able to see this date will help you to decide whether you need to enter new material or labor prices, if prices have changed since that time.

How to Use

This is currently an optional feature, although we may add it to stock layouts in the future.

To add a field showing the oldest component pricing, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Transactions from the submenu.
  2. Enter either Assemblies or Estimates into the Transaction popup field.
  3. Click the field tool (4th row left in the tool palette on the left side of the window).
  4. Click in an empty spot on the layout, and drag a rectangle where you would like to field to appear.
  5. When you lift up the mouse, you'll see a list of optional fields. Choose Oldest Price Update, then click OK.
  6. For estimates, you may want to change the Layout popup at upper left, and then repeat steps 4 and 5.
  7. When you are done, close the layout and save changes.
