Problem

In Goldenseal payroll software versions 4.55 and earlier, it's possible to get incorrect values for worker's comp or other category taxes, if the Labor Hours record has the following conditions:

• Item or Category breakdown
• Some items with the same cost category, but different subcategories
• Different rates for each subcategory

In that case, it will use the rate for the first subcategory, for all items in that category.

Caught By

User bug report.

Workaround

It's possible to edit the rates in the Write Payroll dialog, and fill in the correct amounts.

NOTE-- In most states, a breakdown of worker's comp rates by category of work, is sufficient. In that case, this problem will not occur.

Solution

This problem is fixed in version 4.6 of Goldenseal payroll software.
