Old Macintosh Files |
Problem Company files created with very early versions of Goldenseal accounting software, may give error messages when opened on an Intel Macintosh, in versions 4.5 and 4.55. Caught By User bug report. So far, we've only heard this problem from one user. Theoretically, it should never give errors where it does, but there may other unexpectedly non-kosher files out there, if created in the first few versions of the Goldenseal program. Workaround None available. Continue using Goldenseal versions 4.4 or earlier, which don't have Intel-native code. NOTE-- For Goldenseal 4.6 we have an optional PPC native version, which will also solve this problem (and any similar, unusual problems caused by the conversion to Intel-native code). Solution Goldenseal 4.6 and later are more tolerant of record headers that date back to very early versions. Technical Details Programmer note-- code changed in CBasicRecord::ReadObject |
