Problem

In Goldenseal accounting software versions 4.55 and earlier, there is a problem if a user customizes an accounting report with the full version of Goldenseal, and then attempts to customize reports with the basic version. Goldenseal gives an error message and doesn't allow the user to change anything.

The problem can occur if a new user starts out with the full demo version, modifies an accounting report in their own company file, and then purchases the basic version.

Workaround

Use the full version demo, and use the Custom Layouts command to open a report that is included in the Basic version (e.g. anything under Estimates).

Solution

Starting with Goldenseal accounting software version 4.6, we'll give a more informative error message and then allow access to a valid report.
