Long Text in Billing Records

Feature

Starting with Goldenseal accounting software version 4.55, you can add a long text field to Billing Records, Billing Statements, Leases and Sales. It will allow you to enter up to 32,000 characters of text.

How to Use

The long text fields are optional fields, that you can add to your data entry layouts with the Custom Layouts command. To use it, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Transactions from the submenu.
  2. Enter Billing Records into the Transaction popup field, at upper left.
  3. Enter a specific layout into the Layout popup field.
  4. Click on the Field tool in the palette on the left side of the window (fourth row left).
  5. Click in the layout, and drag a rectangle at the location where you'd like to add the field.
  6. Goldenseal will show you a list of optional fields. Choose Details, then click OK.
  7. Close the layout, and save changes.

NOTE-- in Sales, there is already a Details field that has a 255 character limit. Add Scope of Work, to get the larger text field.
