Payroll Benefits

In Goldenseal payroll software version 4.3, we are making a major change in the way benefits are set up. Instead of the current Benefit Type popup field, there will be two different popup fields to handle the same setup details.

Benefit Type-- a simple description of how the benefit is used (medical, educational, child care, etc). We have removed the former classifications of contribution, payment, allowances, etc.

Paid By-- who pays for the benefit, and who receives those funds.

NOTE-- The new system should be much easier to understand. Our own staff was totally confused by the old system, so we knew it was time for a change!

How to Use

When you first open your company file, version 4.3 of the Goldenseal payroll software will automatically convert all of your Benefit Items to the new system.

HINT-- You should probably double-check all of your Benefit Items, to make sure they are set up the way you want in the new system.

Technical Details

Programmer Note: Calculation changes are in CBenefitItem::CalculateDeduction. CBenefitItem::Do43Update handles the conversion of data.
