Painting Unit Costs

Problem

Three painting unit costs had incorrect "suggested" quantities.

Caught By

User bug report.

Workaround

You can either import the correct values, or type them in yourself.

To import the corrected values, follow these steps:

1. Click this link to download a small text file with corrected data.
2. Save the file on your hard drive at a convenient location.
3. Choose Import from the File menu, and choose Payroll Update from the submenu.
4. Locate the file you saved in step 2.
5. Goldenseal will fill in corrected values.

To change the values by hand, follow these steps:

1. Choose Assemblies from the Costs menu.
2. Choose Find from the Edit menu.
3. Type soffits latex paint into the Menu Name field, then click the Find button.
4. Click the Sales Setup button.
5. Turn on the Calculated checkbox next to Suggested Qty.
6. Enter Soffit Length into the Suggested Qty clairvoyant field, then click OK.
7. Choose Find from the Edit menu.
8. Type ext window trim into the Menu Name field, then click the Find button.
9. Click the Sales Setup button.
10. Turn off the Calculated checkbox next to Suggested Qty.
11. Enter Window Count into the Suggested Qty clairvoyant field, then click OK.
12. Click the right side of the browser "book" at upper left, to move to the next record.
13. Repeat steps 9 to 11.

Solution

This problem is fixed in new Starter Files downloaded or on purchased CDs after 9/5/08.

NOTE-- If you purchased Goldenseal before 9/5/08, you'll need to import the data or change values yourself, as described above. Estimating data is stored in your company file, and a new program version does not change it.

No programming changes. Just corrected data in Sample Company File and several Starter Files.
