How to Use

To change the size of text and other screen elements, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Preferences from the Options menu, and choose Interface from the submenu.
  2. Click on the Magnification popup field, and enter a newtext size.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Goldenseal will use the new magnification whenever you open new windows.

HINT-- Goldenseal does not change the magnification of existing windows, so you can turn on Magnfication temporarily for just one window, then turn it off for the others.

This is a relatively new feature, and it's possible that we overlooked some minor areas that won't magnify properly. Please report any windows that don't magnify properly.

Technical Details

The Magnfication feature currently does not affect action dialogs such as Pay Bills or Job Costs. It also does not affect printing, or controls on the left side of account and transaction windows.

We may expand the Magnify feature to more parts of Goldenseal, but that depends partly on how operating systems respond to changing screen and pixel sizes, over coming years.

NOTE-- Right now we are frugal with screen real estate, and Goldenseal runs OK on a 600 x 800 pixel screen. We don't want to lose that ability, since it will allow Goldenseal to run on future generations of "pocket" devices with small screen and pixel sizes, as well as on large LCD monitors with high pixel counts.
