Addresses in Printed Forms

Problem

User has added custom address fields to the printed forms for an Estimate created with Goldenseal construction estimating software version 3.4 or earlier. They are showing up blank.

Caught By

User bug report in Goldenseal construction estimating software.

Workaround

Use the regular Estimate field, and fill the project address into the Estimate record (click the More Info button to see it).

Solution

Goldenseal includes three different address fields for estimates:

  • The plain Address field uses the Address field in the Estimate record (click the More Info to see it).You can just type in an address there, and it will appear on the printed forms.If nothing is in the
  • The Customer Address field gets the address from the Customer account.
  • The Project Address gets the address from the Project account. However this is only useful if you have already awarded the Estimate by including it in a Project account. If you haven't done that, the field will be blank.

The Customer Address and Project Address fields don't pick up values properly in version 3.4 and earlier. They work fine in version 3.5 and later, for Goldenseal estimating software.
