Zero Item Reports

Feature

Goldenseal already has an option to skip categories that have no items, when making reports or printed forms.

The version 3.4 business software update extends this feature to more types of reports.

How to Use

To set whether a report or printed from includes 'blank' categories or items, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Printed Forms or Reports from the submenu.
  2. Locate the printed form or report you'd like to change.
  3. Click on the report table (the large rectangle that has horizontal dotted lines in it).
  4. Choose Field Properties from the Format menu.
  5. Turn on the Show Zero-Item Breakdowns checkbox if you'd like to include all breakdowns, even if they contain no items. Turn the checkbox off if you'd like to skip them.
  6. Click OK.
  7. When you close the layout, be sure to save changes.

Technical Details

In Goldenseal small business accounting software, a few of the tables use special programming code for their breakdowns. Because of that, we needed to re-program them to also accept the zero-item breakdown option.
