Custom Address Books

Feature

Version 3.1 of the Goldenseal small business management software adds two custom address books, in addition to the regular Address Book and Prospect records.

Suggested By

We needed these lists here at Turtle Creek Software to keep track of state payroll tax agencies and places to hold our accounting software training classes. This improvement lets us retire our last two FileMaker databases-- now we have all of our company records in Goldenseal!

How to Use

To edit the new address books, choose More Lists from the Costs menu, and choose one of the new address books from the submenu.

To add fields to the address books or change the layout appearance, choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, choose Transactions from the submenu, and then enter one of the custom books into the Transaction popup field at upper left.

To rename the new address books, choose Preferences from the Options menu, and choose Interface from the submenu. You can give a different name to each of the two custom address books.

While you are working in Goldenseal business management software, you can use the custom address books exactly the same as the regular Address Book.

Technical Details

The new address books start out exactly the same as the regular address book, but you can add custom fields so they'll store different information.

For example, we have added fields to the state tax agency list so we can quickly see which states have changed their tax tables in the current year, and which are still the same.
