Importing Zip Codes |
Problem Exported zip codes from another program and imported them into Goldenseal small business software. The ones in New England have truncated Zip Codes - the initial 0 is missing. Diagnosis This is a problem in Microsoft Excel. If you open the export file in Excel, it "tidies up" the numbers and removes the leading zeros. Solution If you exported from a program other than Excel, just don't open the file in Excel. If you need to open the file in Excel, change the number format for the zip code cells to "00000". That will keep all the digits, even if zero. Comments Entered 1/17/03 by Dennis. Updated 11/12/2010. |
